Day Cruises & Events

20080918_admiralscove_e_400

Day cruises and yachting events are a gigantic part of the Admiral’s Cove Yacht Club season. Each cruise and event is pre-scheduled in the Admiral’s Cove season calendar.

The cruises are set up to include all vessels in the Fleet, both large and small, and include our important members who wish to drive to the chosen venue. We always persuade our boaters to invite crew to better enjoy the yachting experience. Fleet Captain Bruce Ferguson’s main duty is to organize all cruises and events.  He selects the venue and events, plans the trips, communicates trip and event details to the membership, coordinates slip reservations at the marinas, and handles member attendance and sign-up. As always guests are welcomed.

An e-mail invitation is sent out to the members 3 weeks in advance allowing members to plan their attendance and invite guests.20Fleet Information is sent to all Captains several days prior to every cruise. This information lists each vessel, Captain, number of crew members and vessel size to provide for Captain’s to flotilla together as they chose and the marina to plan our arrival and pre-assign slips.

Fishing Seminar, Wednesday, November 19, 2008

The first fishing seminar sponsored by ACYC is held by Lou Consentino, and an expert panel of fisherman from Admiral’s Cove. The seminar will cover basic techniques, tackle and bait, anchoring for bottom fishing, trolling and locating the fish you want. This is a great opportunity to improve your chances of catching fish and enjoying this great sport off the Gulf Stream.

The seminar will be held at Harborview from 4:00 – 5:30pm. ACYC hopes this will be the first of many seminars.

ACYC to Host December 1, 2008
Harbor Ridge to Host December 10, 2008

The Home to Port arrangement provides our members a fantastic opportunity to meet other local yachting clubs, share in our and their facilities and plan yachting events. Harbor Ridge is located on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River in Palm City and offers a grand day cruise with lunch, tours of the marina and facilities, and golf. They, like Admiral’s Cove, have two great golf courses. Members can attend by boat or car. Overnight marina stays can also be arranged.
